Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I'm sorry I haven't posted the last few days. Things at my house have been a nightmare the last few days. I am hoping it will get better soon.
A very Happy St. Patrick's Day to all my friends. Saint Patrick's day is in honor of the Patron Saint of Ireland, who brought Christianity to the Emerald Isles, as Ireland is known. It is truly a day of celebrating Irish history, ancestry, traditions and customs.....and green beer. LOL.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the rain fall softly upon your fields. And the sun shine warm upon your face.
Top of the mornin' to you.....(and the rest of the day to 'me self!)
May there always be work for you to do.
May your purse always hold a coin or two.
May the sun always shine on your windowpane.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
This Author's favorite:
May the wind at your back not be from the cabbage and corned beef that you eat today!
Everyone's at least a little bit Irish on St. Patrick's Day. (how true, how true).

Another holiday being celebrated today is Campfire Girls Day. It was founded on March 17, 1910, in Thetford, Vermont, by Luther Gulick M.D. and his wife Charlotte Vedder Gulick. Camp Fire Girls, as it was known at the time, was created as the sister organization to the Boy Scouts of America. The organization changed its name in 1975 to Camp Fire Boys and Girls when membership eligibility was expanded to include boys. In 2001, the current name, Camp Fire USA, was adopted. I was a Campfire Girl. I went from Brownies to Girl Scouts to Campfire Girls. Campfire Girls was a lot more fun than Girl Scouts, and a lot more outdoorsy. I remember my mom going with us winter camping....and there was a ton of snow on the ground. We had to shovel around the door of the pit toilets before we could get in....then we discovered mice had taken up residence. We had to remove them before using the facilities. LOL I also remember taking my Red Cross First Aid Test in 7th grade, so I could be First Responder certified.
Lastly, it's Ta'anit Esther Day. No, I had no clue what that meant. It means the Fast of Esther, which remembers God's deliverance of the Jewish people from the evil of Haman during the reign of King Xerxes. Esther and the Jews fasted for 3 days before Esther went to the king to appeal for the deliverance of the Jews.
I hope everyone has a good St. Paddy's Day, with lots of food and green beer. I think I'll see if Mike will take us out to dinner...but he won't want to leave Lily that long (sigh).
