Merry Christmas!

I would like to wish all my friends a very Merry Christmas. We have about 3 inches of snow at my house, which is very neat. This is the first white Christmas Georgia has seen in over 100 years, and the rest of my family is not here. Lily dog is enjoying the snow, while Maggie is not.
Maggie would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas also......

This was the amount of snow at noon......and Lily seems to just love it.

Book Review: The Adventures of Quinn Higgins Boy Detective: The Case of Bigfoot on the Loose

I was sent the children's book The Adventures of Quinn Higgins Boy Detective: The Case of Bigfoot on the Loose by Douglas Quinn to read and review. This is actually the second book in the Quinn Higgins series.

FROM THE BACK OF THE BOOK:
When Quinn travels to visit his father in Oregon, he discovers that the bear who has been raiding the log cabin's trash bins may not be a bear at all. What kind of bear runs away on two feet? And are all bears that big? Quinn Higgins and his friend, Charlotte "Little Dove" Evans, pair up to solve the mystery. Have they discovered the secret of the mysterious creature known as Bigfoot? Not to worry. Quinn Higgins, Boy Detective, is on The Case of Bigfoot on the Loose.

I don't want to give anything away about the book, but Mr. Quinn has done his homework on the Bigfoot legend. Quinn Higgins is a typical curious boy that is just itching for adventure....and I thought this would be perfect for my 10 year old nephew Everett. Everett is NOT a reader, and he struggles with school work. While I was down in Florida, I presented The Adventures of Quinn Higgins: The Case of Bigfoot of the Loose to Everett. He wasn't exactly thrilled, but after I read him the back, Everett was interested. (And very excited when I pointed out the author's signiture).

Well, Everett had some free reading at school, so he began to read The Case of Bigfoot on the Loose. He came home from school and was just raving about the book. I couldn't believe it.....a book that captured Everett's attention and imagination. He was loving the book. Everett was almost finished with the book when he suddenly left it at school. Hmm....now why would he do that????? Oh, I found he liked the book enough that he didn't want me taking it home with me. LOL.

I guess I'm going to have to buy Everett the first book in the series....

This is a wonderful book for both boys and girls in the 7-10 age range. I give it 5 stars.

Review: Welch's Healthy 100% Juices

As a Bzz Agent, I've been given the opportunity to try different products and spread the word about them. My current campaign is Welch's Healthy Start 100% juice. Welch's is headquartered in Concord, MA and is a cooperative of 1,150 family-farmers from across both America and Ontario, Canada that grow concord and niagara grapes. If you are a fan of grape, then you definately know the name Welch's.
Welch's Healthy Start 100% juice has three delicious new flavors, found in the refrigerated section of your grocery store or WalMart store. There is tradional Grape, Blueberry Pomegranate Concord Grape, and White Grape Orange Mango.
  • Two servings (1 cup) of fruit in every 8oz glass.
  • 100% juice – no added sugar.
  • 260% daily value of the antioxidant vitamin C – 2x the vitamin C of the leading OJ.*
  • 2x the antioxidant power of the leading OJ.**
  • Good source of calcium.
I am a big fan of grape juice, so our house usually has a variety of Welch's products. Welch's has some of the very best grape juice on the market.  I am very anxious to try the White Grape Orange Mango juice, but it's been sold out at our WalMart the last few weeks. I was told it would be back in very soon, (and I'm hoping tomorrow).
Welch's has a variety of coupons available for their products, including the new Healthy Start 100% juices. Just go to: http://www.welchs.com/promotions and print yours out.

I was not compensated for my review, and the opinions expressed are solely my own.

Review: Hallmark Recordable Story Book

I was excited to learn that I was getting a Hallmark Recordable Story Book to review. I have 10 neices and nephews, whom I do not get to see very often, so this would be a great gift for some of them.
The Hallmark book Twas the Night Before Christmas arrived last week in the mail.
The instructions to record are very straight forward and easy to follow.

There is also a section of Tips, to help with the recording.

Recording the book is so easy that a 10 yr old can do it. I know, as my nephew really wanted to try recording a page, so I watched him record one of the pages.
Now, the kids think the book is just wonderful! My 16 mo. old nephew was having a good time turning pages and listening to the story. Even my 10 yr old nephew was having fun (and giving me constructive criticism on my reading).

I also have one of the Hallmark Recordable Books up at my parents's house. I was having mom and dad record a book for my kids. I asked dad about recording the book, and he played back a page for me.....oh boy, was it funny. He said that the final recorded book will sound just fine. I said that I liked it how it was..... Dad said the Hallmark Recordable Storybook is so easy to record and rerecord. Mom thinks dad was having just a little too much fun with the storybook.
Hallmark currently has 15 different Recordable Storybooks available.

I was chosen to receive a free Hallmark Recordable Book to test and review. Thank you Gather. The fact that I received this Book to review has no bearing on my review. I give an honest review.  You can read more about this Hallmark promotion by clicking on the following link:  Product Reviewers Needed for Hallmark Holiday Recordable Ornaments & Storybooks!
