Celebrating what???

Another day means another day of holidays to celebrate.....
1). Don't Go to Work Unless It's Fun Day: Gee, I bet I know your decision. LOL. I guess since it's Tuesday, a lot of you will be going in to work anyway....so make it fun and enjoyable. My husband took today off....
2). Tweed Day: Tweed Day celebrates one of two things. Either it celebrates the warm, fashionable woolen clothing that originated in Scotland. Seemingly always in fashion, Tweed keeps you warm and looks good, too. Or,...it celebrates the birthday of a corrupt , New York City politician. William Magear "Boss" Tweed, who was born on April 3, 1823. Boss Tweed was a politician from NYC,  a U.S. Senator, and a NY State Senator. His claim to fame was being convicted of graft and corruption, for stealing millions of dollars from NYC. I guess we should celebrate the Tweed clothing...LOL...unless you live in New York.
3). Pony Express Day: On this day in 1860, the first Pony Express mail, traveling by horse and rider relay teams, simultaneously leaves St. Joseph, Missouri, and Sacramento, California. Ten days later, on April 13, the westbound rider and mail packet completed the approximately 1,800-mile journey and arrived in Sacramento, beating the eastbound packet's arrival in St. Joseph by two days and setting a new standard for speedy mail delivery. The Pony Express was short lived though....lasting only about 18 months....the American Civil War did it in. The TV show The Young Riders was about the pony express...and lasted longer than the actually Pony Express. LOL. (I have a story about the photographer from that show....I will have to remember to write about it).

4). World Party Day: This holiday celebrates a synchronized global mass celebration of a better world and the active creation of desirable reality. World Party Day began as a grassroots effort in 1996.....and actually the idea came from a book: Flight, A Quantum Fiction Novel, by American writer Vanna Bonta. I'm all for partying a little bit today. LOL
Have a great day...and P-A-R-T-Y.
